Calvary Lutheran
Church History
2026 marks 80 years
Calvary congregation was formed in 1946 in Marion, Oregon. In the early 1960's it was decided to close the Marion location and open a new parish in Stayton. Land was purchased from the Forrest family at the corner of 1st and Fern Ridge Rd. The congregation met for 22 months at a temporary location while the land was cleared and construction was underway. The first service of entry in the new and current church building was in June 4, 1967 and a service of dedication was held June 18, 1967
Holy
Communion
Lutheran Christians believe that our Lord is truly present in His
supper as we eat and drink the bread and wine.
Since Jesus says
“This is my body,” and “This is my blood,” we trust in the promise
of His forgiving presence. Those who are baptized and share this
faith are welcome to commune with us.
*Grape juice is offered as an option to wine*
Grace Alone
God loves the people of the world, even though they are sinful, rebel against Him and do not deserve His love. He sent Jesus, His Son, to love the unlovable and save the ungodly.
Faith Alone
By His suffering and death as the substitute for all people of all time, Jesus purchased and won forgiveness and eternal life for them. Those who hear this Good News and believe it have the eternal life that it offers. God creates faith in Christ and gives people forgiveness through Him.
Scripture Alone
The Bible is God's inerrant and infallible Word, in which He reveals His Law and His Gospel of salvation in Jesus Christ. It is the sole rule and norm for Christian doctrine.
Live His Love in Word & Deed
At Calvary, we express these truths by the way we live, that's where the summary of our mission statement comes from "live His love in word & deed"
